Born at the Calgary Stampede as a tool to spread awareness that period pain is not normal.

“It has been heartwarming to see many people voluntarily endure pain publicly just to empathize with individuals in their lives who experience painful periods.”

A Global Movement Backed by Data

From measurable workplace impact to billions reached online, the stats prove this is more than a workshop — it’s a shift in culture.

Workplace Statistics

  • 14% of women report missing work due to menstrual pain each cycle.
  • On average, 8.9 workdays of productivity are lost every year per menstruating employee.

Period pain isn’t just “cramps.” It can mean debilitating discomfort, stress, and anxiety about being misunderstood. The silence around it breeds stigma and exclusion.
The Period Pain Simulator helps break that silence and open the door to empathy.

Workplace Programming

We recently hosted the menstruation workshop organized by Somedays at our HQ and it was truly an eye-opening experience. Giving men the chance to physically feel simulated period pain was incredibly impactful. It was great to learn more about menstrual conditions, break down stigmas, and let men experience the pain women endure each month (along with all the other symptoms!). We’ve now begun talking about periods in the workplace openly, without embarrassment or awkwardness.

Leah was amazing! She was so welcoming and approachable for people to come and ask questions and kept the audience engaged. We have had some great feedback from the event.
